About Us
Dan and Sue have been in retailing for too many years to count! A love of
cats combined with love of retailing led to The Sign of the Cat, a retail
store for ten years and now an online store.
Our first two Maine Coon Cats, Cappy and Cadie were the influence in
getting the cat themed business started over 15 years ago-first through
craft show sales, then in the shop and finally on the Internet.
About The Cats
Francoonia's Capt. Jordan Schoodic "CAPPY"-(6/4/91-9/12/06) was the
first Maine Coon to join the family-"Cappy" was a great big love bug who
greeted customers in the shop for ten years and loved every minute of it.
Francoonia's Jellicle Jenny Acadia "CADIE"- (11/13/91-3/15/04) was
known for her LOUD purring when at the shop-she was Cappy's soulmate.
Tuvets Abenaki Lupine Acadia "ABBE" -(8/19/04) joined us after Cadie's
death and quickly attached herself to Cappy and comforted him throughout
his 18 months of cancer treatments. "Abbe" is now the boss of the house.
McKittycreek Captain Salty Claws "SALTY" -(12/15/06) is the newest
member of the group and thinks he is the boss! Spent most of 2007 on
the cat show circuit and became a "Grand Premier" in Dec 2007. He is
now retired and living a life of ease at home, keeping Abbe in line and
running the household. (Abbe thinks she is the boss).
